A seashore journey turned much more eventful for folks visiting Pope Seashore in South Lake Tahoe this week. A big black bear wandered into the realm on the lookout for meals, and 18-year-old Derek Sears began recording. After a person whacked the bear within the face with a shovel, it left, leaving everybody unhurt.
Within the viral video, which USA TODAY Journey shared to X, the bear first begins rummaging by way of Sears and his associates’ issues. Sears was involved the bear would get into their drinks. It ended up stealing Sears’s cookie, and he was not happy.
The bear then begins strolling down the seashore and a person holding a shovel confronts it.
“Bro is combating a bear!” Sears narrates as the person hits the shovel repeatedly on a park bench to attempt to scare the bear away with noise.
At one level within the standoff, the unidentified man whacks the bear within the face with the shovel, and it lastly turns and leaves.

Lake Tahoe is in northern California alongside the California/Nevada border. It’s house to black bears, a few of which have brown fur. Brown bears like grizzlies now not dwell in California, though they did traditionally.
